The Iowa Arts Council, created in 1967, is comprised of fifteen board members who emphasize the importance arts have in the quality of life.  The Council works to create awareness of artists and art organizations in Iowa and offers financial support and resources to help nurture the development of the arts. 


PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Programs and Services:

• Arts in Education Program - encourage schools, assist educators, employ the arts as a tool and reflect the rich cultural diversity of the state of Iowa.
• Community Arts Program - educate and encourage dialogue among community members and leaders, promote the arts through partnership development and research and promote the economic benefit of the arts to Iowa's communities.
• Folk & Traditional Arts Program - assists in documenting, preserving, and promoting the living traditional culture of all of Iowa’s residents.

• Conference, Workshop & Forum Major Grant and Mini Grant -supports eligible applicants to plan and conduct arts-related conferences, workshops and forums.
