COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL DESCRIPTION/BIO:
The Mississippi Arts Commission was established in 1968 to offer grants and other services to the communities to support the arts.  They offer programs, such as training in arts management and arts education, to help encourage the integration of the arts into the communities.  The Commission also works to grow the awareness on how it is important to have the arts involved in education and other aspects of the community.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The Mississippi Arts Commission’s website offers a calendar of artistic events that are occurring throughout Mississippi.  There is information on the programs offered by the Commission, such as their Arts-Based Community Development, Arts in Education, Building Fund for the Arts, and Mississippi Heritage.  These programs offer assistance through a variety of methods, such as grants, fellowships, and artist rosters.  There is also information on local and national resources available to artists.  They have two artist rosters available which includes the Arts in Education Demonstrator Roster, which list people who are committed to teaching their talents or training people to teach the arts, and the Mississippi Artist Roster, which is a list of professional artists.  The website also contains information on special projects and initiatives the Commission is currently working on, such as their Whole School Initiative, which encourages the use of art in all curriculums.
