The South Carolina Arts Commission was established in 1967 to help create an environment to nurture the arts in South Carolina.  They work to make sure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the arts.  The Commission mainly focuses on Artist Development, Arts Education, and Community Arts Development.  They feel that the arts have an effect on the quality of life as well as economic development in South Carolina.
