January 4, 11, 18, 25, Orange County, NY, Thinktank on the Arts in Healthcare
Regular weekly meetings resume for this group of senior artists and healthcare professionals, facilitated by John Cimino, president of Creative Leaps International. The think tank is exploring how the arts profesionals can meet the needs and enrich the lives of seniors, children and adults with disabilities, as well as veterans returning from areas of conflict around the world. Designed as action research, group members will design and implement real-time field projects.
January 19th through March 27th, Westchester County, NY -- Arts In Education
This year's arts-in-education project developed by The Learning Arts (a sister division to Creative Leaps International specializing in arts integrated learning) commences its programming for students at the Davis Elementary School in New Rochelle. The theme of the interdisciplainry programming is "The Rainforests of Brazil". Throughout the fall, Learning Arts president, John Cimino, facilitated planning and training with a dozen teachers and staff members at the school as well as the preparation of his teaching artist teams from The Learning Arts. The teaching artists will implement lesson plans and activities in dance, percussion, storytelling and music keyed to the rainforest theme. This project is funded in part by the New York State Council on the arts.
January 30, Albany, NY, "Optimizing 21st Century Skills"
The mid-winter check-in of this six-month professional development pilot developed and led by John Cimino, president of Creative Leaps International, sponsored by the Greater Capital region Teacher Center Capital Region BOCES. The training addresses 21st century skills in teaching and learning. Participating teachers are being groomed as teacher leaders for the proliferation of the skills systemwide.

March 5-6, New York City, PBS Celebration of Teaching and Learning
John Cimino, President of Creative Leaps International, together with Carol Brown, Coordinator for Arts in Education at the Eastern Suffolk BOCES, will lead a special workshop chronicling his pilot project training for educators aimed at the development of teaching practices keyed to the emergent needs of children in the 21st century. John Cimino and the team from Creative Leaps International will provide a special kepnote Concert of Ideas at this year's Edison Awards for Innovation in New York City. John Cimino, President of Creative Leaps International and The Learning Arts, leads a professional development day for educators focusing on how arts-basd thinking and learning informs learning across the disciplines and also seeds competencies essential to the development of leadership capabilities.
December 16-17, New York City, Effective Presentation and Communication Skills
John Cimino and Dianne Legro of Creative Leaps International, in association with the Australian consulting group "coup", work with executives of Macquarie Banking and Finance leading a custom training aimed at the development of the skills, disciplines and practices of successful presentation and communication.

John Cimino, president of Creative Leaps International, will lead a conference for educators, teaching artists and visual arts specialists addressing the key role of our visual and visualizing capacities (i.e., both our physical sight and interior sight/imagination) in thinking, teaching and learning in the 21st century.

October 1-3, New Orleans, Imagining America Conference -- "Culture Crisis and Recovery" John Cimino, president of Creative Leaps International, and Laura Olson, Research Scientist, The George Washington University, Institute for Crisis, Disaster, and Risk Management, will present a workshop for 100 university leaders entitled "Partnerships in Renewal, Recovery, and Resilience: Combining Emergency Management, Trauma Therapy, and Cultural Arts in Response to Crisis" chronicling the work of Creative Leaps International with the leaders and volunteers of the American Red Cross one year after the onslaught of Hurricane Katrina.October 8, 22, Albany, NY, "Optimizing 21st Century Skills"

September 26, Warwick, New York--Musical Tribute to Richard Kiley John Cimino and colleagues from Creative Leaps International will perform a musical tribute to the late actor Richard Kiley in his hometown of Warwick, NY. The concert will feature performances by Cimino from two of Kiley's best known musical credits, MAN OF LA MANCHA and THE LITTLE PRINCE.
